Carolyn Cork Greer, Troupe #3161

Chapter Director

Carolyn Cork Greer has been involved with the Kentucky Thespian Society for 19 years; originally as the STO liaison and now as the Chapter Director. Though she has been teaching and directing for over 30 years, for the past 22 she has been the theatre teacher at Owensboro HS. At OHS, she is the director of the Rose Curtain Players, Kentucky’s oldest high school theatre program, and troupe director of ITS troupe #3161. She is the proud mother of two KTS board members and a former Kentucky STO president.

Brie Greer

STO Liaison

Brie Murray grew up In Owensboro, Kentucky. She is a K-5 Behavioral Specialist at a local elementary school. She comes from a huge theater family and believes that theater can open many doors! She serves as the STO Liaison on the board and has for the last 3 years.

Rebecca Cates

Membership and Advocacy

Rebecca has been on the KY Thespian board since 2015. She currently serves on the EdTA Advocacy Leadership Network and is a member of the CTE committee. Rebecca teaches English at Madison Southern High School in Berea.

Andrew Harris, Troupe #7604

Communications Liaison

Andrew has been on the KY Thespian Board since 2018. They teach English and theatre at Scott High School in Taylor Mill, Kentucky where they serve as the director of Scott Eagle Theatre.

Grae Greer, Bluegrass Children’s Theatre

Development and Outreach

Grae Greer is the CEO & Founder of Bluegrass Children’s Theatre. She is a graduate of Marshall University (B.F.A.) and continued her education in NYC briefly before moving back to her hometown to help cultivate children’s theatre in the area. Greer travels around the tri-state area working with children of all ages and ability to find their passion for the arts through workshops and individual classes.

April Berry, Troupe #4783

April Berry is the theatre director at Apollo High School in Owensboro, KY, where she has taught since 2009. April enjoys sharing her love of theatre with her husband, Bill, and their two children, Lily and Xander.

 

Jason Meenach, Troupe #8731

Jason Meenach has directed or produced over 60 shows in high school theatre since 2000. He currently teaches Theatre, Speech and Debate at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, and joined the KTF advisory board in 2018.

Jack Cates

Jack Cates, a Berea native, is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He has been in education for 21 years and a member of the festival board since 2017. He is owner of Southeast Theatre Builds, a theatrical design and set construction company, and has designed and constructed set pieces for schools all over Kentucky.

Alissa Vogelgesang, Troupe #8704

Alissa Vogelgesang teaches English and Theater at Carroll County High School in Carrollton, KY. Alissa has directed Panther's Theater at Carroll County High School since 2016. In 2017, Panther's Theater founded International Thespian Society Troupe 8704 and since then Alissa has been honored by her students and EdTA with the Inspirational Theater Educator award in 2019.

Amie Kisling, Troupe #8552

Amie Kisling is the theatre teacher and director at Lafayette High School and School for the Creative and Performing Arts at Lafayette. Prior to teaching in the classroom, Amie worked as the Associate Education Director at Lexington Children's Theatre. When not teaching or directing, Amie loves to spend time outdoors with her wonderful husband Jeremy and their clever and active 5 year old son Leo.

David Walker

Originally from southern Ohio, David Walker is in his 18th year teaching at Owensboro High School. He teaches a variety of visual arts classes as well as Technical Theater, working with The Rose Curtain Players, and has served on the KY Thespians Advisory Board since 2005.
